He's a bit concerned about all this dying that's been going on, but not too concerned, because Mushroom is not a tender teenage girl and he's pretty sure he can survive whatever shit Kyr throws at him because his life is like 100% shit anyway, he can clearly Deal.
But he thinks Mushroom's a stick-in-the-mud who needs to loosen up and stop being such a grumpy Gus all the time (HA HA HA HA yeah rite) and he enjoys being a dick to him and that's not gonna change. He knows you are a soft and squishy teddy bear under your emotionless, dead-eyed exterior.
If only Mushroom called him 'his holiness' all the time . . .
Also he likes 'Mushroom' too much to give it up because it's hilarious, but he'll reserve 'Levi' for Serious Situations probably.

RE: the faith thing... I think I went into this in detail in Kimmeh's question meme, but it boils down to coming into the game pretty fuckin atheist, accepting that Yato is actually a god, and then deciding shitty gods probably equal shitty worlds. Like his, for example. So if Yato's eventually going to go back to being a god at home, he wants him to be a good one. Because having power and using it poorly (or not at all) is Not Okay!
With that said, he does think Yato has made some progress. They obviously hated each other at first, but a series of unfortunate (and bloody) events has lead to them being friends. Neither of them is the the type to have much in the way of "friends," so it's been kind of difficult, but they've dealt with a lot of shit together so it's just as well they get along now. Especially since they keep dying. Whoops. Against all odds, Yato's the closest thing he has to a bestie. Star's like a little sister and Blade's like a slightly terrifying older (??) brother, but he and Yato are kind of on the same level. They have some pretty important shit in common (most of which involve murder) but have basically opposite personalities, so I think it's an interesting relationship.
So yes, he absolutely does have Yato's back (most of the time). But he will always be a stick in the mud. Sorry, bro.

Star!! Star is one of Yato's Important People and his TOP TEAMMATE along with Mushroom (Blade's third.) And he cares about her, for a variety of reasons. Some of it's purely self-serving: he needs her around and wants her attention because she's his lifeline and so it's simply in his best interest to, say, keep a velociraptor from eating her. But he does care about her as a person!! genuinely. At this point. In his own Yato way. Which is also why he wouldn't want a velociraptor to eat her.
To him, she's weird, but quirky in a fun way, and he does kind of admire her ideals, even if he doesn't actually share them. He does worry about her a little, though, because she definitely pushes herself, and she has gone through way more shit than anyone should. I mean, most people in Kyr have, but she seems to get it especially bad. But Yato is not a therapist and you don't want him to be. So as long as she seems to bounce back, he will just. LET HER DO THAT.
What he really wants is for her to acknowledge and approve of him. Validate him, Star!!!! It makes him very happy when she does. HE WOULD MAKE SACRIFICES NOW that he might not have before, if not doing so would hurt and/or disappoint her. Even before, when he was in a Bad Game without her, he's considered What Would Star Do. Beyond simply forgetting about him, an actual nightmare scenario for him would be if she just realized one day that he's actually terrible and she doesn't want him around anymore!!! He'd be very sad.
Nothing's gonna keep him from fuckin' with her though and one day taking her body for a joyride. You can assume he's bugging her every day and subtly following her around occasionally too and just being generally creepy and obnoxious. He's probably gone through her room when she's not around and spies on her sometimes from the trees when she's outside. Though it's true that he splits his time between seeking her attention and other people's, like Mushroom and Yukine and now Hiyori, because he is an attention whore. So she is freer now from the Yato than she was. But she will always be teenage girl teammate #1 in his heart, and teenage girl #2 overall, I'm sorry it's just that he has a massive creepy crush on another one. Star can be best man at their wedding ok thanks.
